Dominican Republic Missions Trips

What Our Missions Trip Looks Like

Each year at least one Mission Trip is hosted to minister to CIMIV and the surrounding area. The trip is usually a week in duration and includes ministering to the children and the teachers at CIMIV, as well as the migrate, sugar cane workers. The sugar cane workers live in very impoverished conditions, so our team goes and distributes food packages, bibles and shares the gospel with them through a speaker.

Mission Trip 2023

On November 4-11 2023, a team of 24, chosen by God went to Dominican Republic!  We felt the Holy Spirit everywhere we went.   What a week of revival!  God is alive!

One afternoon was spent walking around the community with Dr. Enerino and his family.  Many children were seeking our attention and enjoying holding our hands.  These children we hope felt the presence of the Lord from us.  During the walk we were greeted by a CIMIV school graduate; currently he is doing God’s work by singing Chrisitian music!

Most of the week was spent with the children at the CIMIV school.  This was intentional time sining songs, completing crafts, and BEING with the students.  We pray that the students received God’s love through us.

Some of the time was put towards different projects.  One of which was painting, and fixing playground equipment.  Another project was painting the outside wall of the campus.  Pray that the Lord uses each of these project for saving lives.

Here are a few of 2,000 pictures we took.

Feedback From Past Team Members

Each year we receive great feedback from the teams who go. It’s a life changing experience seeing another culture. Especially one that displays generosity, kindness and need for Jesus Christ.

Dominican Republic Missions Trip FAQs

Below are a few of the common questions we are asked before people embark on a missions trip with us. We would love for you to prayerfully consider joining us on a missions trip in the future!

Where Do We Go On Our Missions Trip?

CIMIV School; in Punta de Garza a small barrio(town) outside of San Pedro de Macoris

Who Can Go On Our Missions Trip?

We do not like to put God in a box. Those who feel called by the Lord and moved by the Holy Spirit, go. We have had many ages- 16 and up (unless accompanied by a parent), children under 16 parent discretion is advised. We can help guide parents in discernment on whether their child is emotionally prepared to go on this type of trip.

What Do We Do On The Missions Trip?

Each mission trip is different while in Dominican Republic. There are some common denominators on each stay. We visit the Mercedes church; this church is culturally different from American churches.

  • Spending Time With The Students: We have time with the students each day we are there. This may look different each visit. While the students are at recess, we play with them. The students are excited to see Americans.
  • Teach Bibile Stories: At least three times that week, we prepare and teach the students a bible story, sing songs, and complete a craft with them.
  • Work On Work Projects: Typically we have planned and prepared work projects around the school. Some are vigorous while others are much more manageable for anyone.
  • Visit The Sugar Cane Village: During our stay, we travel to a sugar cane village. This village is off an unpaved road deep in the sugar cane fields. We deliver food and water to the natives that live there. We also share a testimony and a gospel message. We pass out Bibles. During this time, Dr. Enerio asks the locals if anyone wants to give their life to Christ. It is one of the highlights of the mission trip.
  • Throw A Teacher's Party: One night, the team gives the teachers a party. This party consists of games, food, and fellowship. We come alongside the teachers to encourage and uplift them.
  • Visit The Local Community: One afternoon, Dr. Enerio takes the team on a community walk around the local area. We see the third world country first hand. The houses are barely a metal shack, the floor is dirt in most houses, the streets are covered in trash; however, all the locals are friendly and joyful.
